I was flipping through my mother’s old recipe book recently, and I stumbled across this Blueberry Banana Cream Cheese Pie. I was looking for her banana bread recipe, and this one was stuck in there next to it. Cream cheese pie? With blueberries and bananas? I didn’t remember this dessert at all!
As we’re into the warmer months here in the North Carolina mountains, I decided to give this dessert a try. I love recipes for good chilled pies! Aside from the chilling time, this dessert is actually super easy to make. Mix the filling. Make the blueberry sauce. Refrigerate until cold.

Blueberry Banana Cream Cheese Pie
I absolutely love a good Banana Cream Pie, and this recipe is similar – but with the added tang from the cream cheese. The mild tanginess of the cream cheese combined with the sweetness of the filling and blueberry sauce really works well together. This Blueberry Banana Cream Cheese Pie tastes like a cross between a cream pie and a no-bake cheesecake. It’s delicious!

Ingredients
This Blueberry Banana Cream Cheese Pie is very easy to make! In fact, it can almost be considered no-bake, but you do need to bake the crust and make the blueberry sauce on the stovetop. Other than that, the fridge does all of the work here.
- Cream Cheese. As cream cheese is the primary ingredient in the filling, I recommend a high-quality cheese. We used Cabot cream cheese, and it was perfectly creamy and flavorful. Also, make sure the cream cheese is room temperature before starting – that will ensure that the filling mixes easily.
- Granulated Sugar. The sugar adds sweetness – this is a dessert after all! It also balances the tartness of the cream cheese.
- Heavy Whipping Cream. The cream gets turned into homemade whipped cream that in turn gets mixed into the filling. This lightens the texture so that the filling isn’t overly dense.
- Bananas. Sliced bananas placed on the bottom of the pie (before the filling gets added) brings the banana flavor to this fun summer dessert.
- Pie Crust. Feel free to make your own pie dough or just use a store-bought version. Either way works! A store-bought graham cracker crust would also be delicious with this pie – just make sure it’s deep-dish.
- Blueberries. Rather than use a can of blueberry pie filling, this pie uses frozen blueberries to make a simple sauce. Frozen berries work well, but feel free to use fresh blueberries if they are available.
- Cornstarch + Water. This mixture causes the blueberry sauce to thicken once heated.

Can I Use Different Berries?
Absolutely! We haven’t tried it yet, but I suspect this pie would be great with strawberries, blackberries or even cherries. You could also leave the berry topping off and just keep it as a Banana Cream Cheese Pie.
Can I Freeze This Pie?
Yes! This pie actually freezes very well. We ate a couple of slices and then froze the rest for another night. If desired, you could make this pie in advance and freeze the entire thing. Just wrap the pie (or individual slices) tightly in plastic wrap and store in a freezer bag for up to 3 months.

If you’re looking for a great chilled summer pie, then put this recipe on the list. The bananas, cream cheese and blueberries all combine for a flavor explosion that is perfect for a warm summer evening. Happy baking!

Love the combination of these fruits together, so they’d be wonderful in a cream cheese pie! 😀
We had fun making this pie…and eating it, too! Thanks, Michelle!
I’m not really into turning our oven during the summer, so this kind of desserts is perfect to me. It looks luscious, and I love the combination of bananas and blueberries. But I’m surprised you didn’t make bourbon- infused whipped cream for this pie! (Now you have an excuse to make another pie.) Lol
Oooo…a bourbon-infused whipped cream!? Ok, twist my arm. Now I’m off to use that idea in a recipe. Thanks, Ben!
this looks absolutely beautiful David. I don’t eat bananas by themselves but in a pie or dessert i usually manage especially if there are lots of other delicious bits to them! I reckon i could manage this one!
sherry
There are a lot of other flavors going on in this pie, Sherry – I dare say you might like it even though you aren’t a banana person! 🙂
This hits on so many of my favorites that find it irresistible. I love blueberries, I love banana cream, and I love a no-bake cheesecake filling.
Then this dessert is absolutely calling your name, my friend! Perhaps with some of those Michigan blueberries that are coming soon??
So much deliciousness in this pie! I love the combo of blueberries and bananas so this has me drooling!
This pie really is packed with summer flavor, Shashi! And since it’s served cold, it really is a good one for warm days.
That pie sounds like the ultimate summer treat! Love how it blends the richness of cream cheese with fresh, fruity flavours.
The fruit helps balance the tanginess of the cream cheese here, and the fact that it’s served chilled makes it great for summer evenings! Thanks, Raymund!
