Wrap it up! These Grilled Chicken Taco Wraps are a healthy, flavor-packed lunch idea!
I was picking up Robbie from daycare last week, and I happened to notice the lost-and-found box in the lobby. Kids are bound to lose things. Heck, adults are bound to lose things, too. It just happens. This particular lost-and-found box contained a winter jacket, a couple of random socks and a single shoe. How exactly does one go about losing a single shoe? (Don’t answer that question…I’m pretty sure Robbie could manage to do that! Those poor parents probably spent hours hunting under beds and behind couches for that shoe.)
According to a recent survey, the average American spends 2.5 days a year looking for lost things. 2.5 days! I misplace things occasionally, but doesn’t 2.5 days sound like a lot? The most common lost items are TV remotes, glasses, phones, car keys and shoes. (Ok, so maybe that lost shoe at Robbie’s daycare isn’t that unusual after all!) And what’s more, millennials are twice as likely to lose things compared to baby boomers. And U.S. households collectively spend $2.7 billion (billion!) a year replacing lost items. That’s a lot of TV remotes.
Coincidentally, the day after I read that article about lost items, Laura left her lunch at home. I got a text from her at 11:45am saying she had to go to the work cafeteria to get lunch since she left her lunch in the fridge. That was really unfortunate for her as she had packed one of these Grilled Chicken Taco Wraps that day. Don’t worry, though. That wrap didn’t stay in the fridge long. I made sure of that one! (Yes, I ate her lunch. But then I made her another wrap the next morning.)
We often joke around here that Laura can turn any and all leftovers into tacos. It’s true. Leftover rotisserie chicken? Tacos! Leftover beans and a partially shredded block of cheese? That has tacos written all over it! Leftover birthday cake? Oh, who am I kidding. There is no such thing as leftover cake in this house!
These Grilled Chicken Taco Wraps are quite tasty, and they made for some awesome lunches. And they’re really quite simple to pull together, too. A couple pieces of grilled chicken combined with lettuce, salsa, onions and tomatoes. And Flatout flatbreads. Flatout wraps are perfect for turning boring weekday lunches into epic weekday lunches!
For these Grilled Chicken Taco Wraps, I used several Flatout Multi Grain Flatbreads with Flax. These flatbreads clock in at just 100 calories each, and they boast 9g of protein and 13g of whole grains per wrap! That’s half the calories and carbs as 2 slices of whole wheat bread. We’re no stranger to desserts around here, but I like to try to keep it healthy at lunch. And these Grilled Chicken Taco Wraps are an easy, healthy lunch that doesn’t skimp on flavor. Want to grab a pack of Flatout flatbreads? Check out their store finder to find a location near you!
What was the strangest thing you’ve ever lost? What did you eat for lunch yesterday?
