Laura has multiple phone meetings each day, and those are my times to play with Robbie. So far, we’ve built a mini-vacuum cleaner (yay, STEM kits!), completed 87 puzzles and sorted coins in his piggy bank like 14 times. He’s even helped me out in the kitchen baking some sourdough bread that I’ve been meaning to get around to. Yum!
Speaking of activities, have you seen all of the rainbows popping up? From sidewalk chalk to door art to yard decorations, folks are putting up rainbows for kids to find. It’s still pretty chilly up here in upstate New York, but we try to get out for a walk each day. So far our record is 10 rainbow decorations…maybe today we’ll find another one!
In times like these, we need easy, comfort food. Today’s scheduled post is gonna have to wait. Instead, I’ve collected some of our favorite pasta recipes. Pasta is one of my all-time favorite comfort foods. I’m pretty sure I could eat it every night and not get bored. I hope this list inspires you to whip up something new and delicious for dinner tonight! Stay healthy (and sane) in these crazy times. Remember, social distancing is working…keep doing it!!

i’m not really into pasta but you certainly have a wonderful array of different dishes here. everyone here is doing the Great Bear Hunt where people put up a teddy bear in their window, so kids can take a walk with their parents, counting up the bears as they go. i think it’s a bit of a global phenomenon! take care and keep well!
Interesting! The Great Bear Hunt, eh? Maybe we should start that one here, too. The rainbows have been fun, but it’s time to mix it up I think. 🙂
You have so many delicious pasta recipes in your line-up. Pasta is such a great comfort food. You and your family stay safe in these scary times.
These times certainly are scary, Dawn. I hope you and your family stay safe, too. 🙂
Yep, times like these really call out for a nice warming bowl of pasta! Stay well, my friend. And you family, too. This social distancing must be particular hard on a little kid, but I see you’re channeling that excess energy in constructive directions!
We’re trying to keep a positive spin on the whole thing here, but Robbie is getting pretty antsy to get outside and see his friends. But then again, aren’t we all?? Stay safe, Frank…and eat pasta! 🙂
Pasta is one of the foods that we’ve have a run on here as people panic buy. Now I can understand that one. But loo roll? Anyway let’s hope that the pasta supply returns to normal here as I want to give some of these a try. Especially that Chicken Riggies recipe! Like Laura, Lynne is on conference calls throughout the day. Me – well I’m an “essential worker” in the bank I took a part-time job in last year so I head there daily at the moment to help out all the people financially suffering at the moment. Thanks for this wonderful round up of all your pasta dishes David!
But we’re the same way, Neil. The pasta aisle was totally cleaned out the first week. The second week, there was a tiny bit there, but very limited – I suspect they had just stocked the shelves, so it wasn’t going to last long. Fortunately for us, pasta is one of those things we always keep in the pantry since it stores well.
I knew you had taken a part-time job, but I wasn’t sure what it was. Glad to hear you’re helping out in the baking industry. These times truly are crazy. Hang in there and stay safe, Neil!
Pasta is always a good idea, David 🙂 My kind of delicious comfort food.
I hope you and your family are staying safe and well!
We are indeed staying safe…sane? Well that’s another question! I hope you and your family are doing well, too, Alexandra! 🙂
I’m with you, pasta is always welcomed! Mac & cheese is calling my name right now 🙂 Hope you are hanging in there, and yes, daily walks are a must!
You can’t beat a good bowl of mac and cheese! 🙂 Hope the weather is finally getting nice for you guys over there in CT. It warmed up enough that we actually did some yardwork this weekend. I’ve never enjoyed doing spring cleanup so much!
This is an amazing collection David. Your malfatti is on my today’s to-do list 🙂
Ooo…that Malfatti is a fun one, Priya! And it’s surprisingly easy to make, too. I hope you enjoy it!
