These Triple Chocolate Cookies feature 3 types of chocolate for triple the deliciousness! Enjoy!
So technically it’s Spring. It doesn’t feel like Spring yet, but Spring is coming. At least that’s what I hear! Soon enough, the apple trees in the backyard will start to bud and bloom. The snows will all melt away. I might venture outside in something other than a ginormous ski jacket. Yup, warmer weather is coming, friends! And with that brings the For Sale signs on houses all around the neighborhood.
Back in Atlanta, we actually bought our house in November. Most of the leaves were done and the plants weren’t in bloom, so the yard wasn’t the prettiest. But that made the Spring fun since we didn’t know what to expect. But once we moved up to upstate New York, we purchased this house in the Spring. I totally get it, too. The winter isn’t exactly the most attractive time of the year to put your house on the market. Plus, who wants people tromping through your house in snow boots? #NotMe
One of our good friends is looking to buy a house soon, and he’s hoping the Spring brings a bunch of new houses to the market here in our area. So far, the pickings have been pretty slim. But I’m pulling for him to find a house here soon…and with some luck, maybe it will be near us! Have you guys bought/sold houses? It’s not a fun process at all. It’s emotional. It’s exhausting. But the new beginnings side can also be kinda fun in a way.
For me, one of the strangest parts about selling a house is the whole staging thing. In Atlanta, we literally packed up probably 1/3 of our stuff and put it in boxes in the garage. We had little baskets in the bathroom with rolled up hand towels and various soaps. We never had that stuff before! We cleared off most of the books in our bookcases and hid the general clutter in the den. Oh, and we shoved the dog bowls in the cabinet before each showing. I guess the goal is to make the house not feel too personal and “lived in”…and it worked! It didn’t look like our house at all, but the darned thing sold.
Another trick for selling a house? Light a candle or bake a batch of cookies right before a showing! (Yeah, as if you have time to stop and bake cookies when the realtor calls and says they’ll be there in 30 minutes…) For real, though, good smells make people happy. And the smells of these Triple Chocolate Cookies will make people very happy. Trust me!
I used 3 different types of chocolate in these bad boys, and I also added some chopped pecans in there for fun, too. Mainly because I love chopped pecans in cookies. Are you guys fans of nuts in cookies? The base of these Triple Chocolate Cookies is amazing! It’s almost like a chewy brownie…just in cookie form. Then just stir in some semisweet chocolate chips + white chocolate chips, and you’ve got yourself one amazing cookie. I don’t know about you, but I’d buy a house if I walked in for a showing and smelled these Triple Chocolate Cookies. (Ok, maybe I’m not that easily persuaded…but it’s close!)
Here’s to warmer weather and the Spring…and may it arrive soon! Cheers!
