Ingredients
2cupswhole wheat flour
½cupold fashioned oats
1Tbspbaking powder
1egg
¾cuplow-sodium chicken broth
2Tbsphoney
¾cupcreamy peanut butter
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, oats and baking powder; stir until well mixed.
Add the egg, chicken broth, honey and peanut butter. Stir until a smooth, but crumbly dough forms. Press the dough together into a large ball.
Place the dough on a well-floured countertop and roll out to about ½” thick.
Use cookie cutters to cut the dough into various shapes. Place bones on a parchment-lined sheet pan. (The bones will not expand much when baking, so you can place them close together.)
Re-roll the scraps and continue cutting until all dough has been used.
Bake at 350°F for 20 minutes, or until bones are light golden in color. Allow bones to cool completely.
Store leftover bones in an airtight container for 5 days.
