Ingredients
2medium applesI used 1 Granny Smith and 1 Honeycrisp
1Tbspgranulated sugar
1½tspground cinnamon
Instructions
Preheat oven to 200°F.
Line 2 sheet pans with parchment paper; set pans aside.
Wash and dry apples.
Slice apples as thinly as possible. (Note: I highly recommend using a mandolin to slice the apples evenly into 1/16” thick slices. Make sure the apples are the same thickness so that they bake evenly! To get the star pattern, slice the apple starting from the bottom. Remove seeds before baking.)
Arrange apple slices on prepared sheet pan.
Using a small bowl, combine the sugar and cinnamon; sprinkle mixture lightly on top of apple slices.
Bake for 60 minutes. Remove pan from oven, flip slices over and continue baking for 60 more minutes, or until slices feel dry to the touch. (Tip: To test doneness, remove an apple chip from the pan and let rest at room temperature for 2-3 minutes. If it’s crispy once it’s cool, the apple chips are done! If not, continue baking in 10 minute intervals until the chips are crispy.)
