Ingredients
For the Chocolate Apples
6applesany variety
craft sticks
8oz.semisweet chocolatechopped
1Tbsplight corn syrup
{optional} 2-3 Tbsp milk or cream
For the Toppings
¾cupshredded coconut
½cuppecanschopped and toasted
Instructions
For the Chocolate Apples
Remove the stem from each apple. Using a skewer, create a small hole at the top of each apple. Insert a craft stick, skewer or stick into the top of each apple. (Tip: Make sure the apples are room temperature and not cold.)
Line a baking tray with wax paper; set aside.
Using a double-boiler (or microwave), add semisweet chocolate and light corn syrup. Cook, stirring often, until smooth. (Note: If the chocolate appears to be too thick for dipping, just stir in a bit of milk or cream to thin it out.)
Transfer chocolate mixture into small bowl or measuring cup. Dip each apple into chocolate. Sprinkle coconut and/or pecans onto each apple and then place apples on wax paper.
