Ingredients
For the Doughnuts
1¼cupscake flour
¾cupgranulated sugar
1¼tspbaking powder
¼tspsalt
1large egg
¼cupmilk
1tsppure vanilla extract
3Tbspunsalted buttermelted
3Tbspheavy cream
For the Cinnamon Sugar Topping
½cupgranulated sugar
1Tbspground cinnamon
¼cupunsalted buttermelted
Instructions
For the Doughnuts
Preheat oven to 425°F.
Using a large bowl, add all of the dry ingredients (cake flour, granulated sugar, baking powder and salt); stir until well combined.
Using a separate bowl, whisk together the egg, milk, vanilla extract, melted butter and heavy cream.
Add the liquid ingredients to the dry ingredients; stir until just combined.
Using nonstick baking spray, generously grease a donut pan.
Spoon or pipe the batter evenly into each cavity of the greased pan.
Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until doughnuts begin to turn golden brown on the edges.
Let doughnuts cool on wire rack for 10 minutes.
For the Cinnamon Sugar Topping
Using a medium bowl, whisk together the sugar and cinnamon.
Brush doughnuts with melted butter (tops and bottoms) and then dip into the cinnamon sugar mixture. Sprinkle any remaining cinnamon sugar on top.
Doughnuts will taste best served immediately, but leftovers can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
