16oz.Hatfield Thick-Cut Hardwood Smoked Baconcut into 1”-wide pieces
½cuppure maple syrup
2Tbspbrown sugar
1tspsalt
½tspcinnamon
½tspblack pepper
1½cupspecan halves
1cupwalnuts
1cupcashews
1cupalmonds
{optional} ½ cup dried cranberries
⅓cupgranulated sugar
Instructions
Place bacon in a cast iron skillet; place skillet over medium heat. Cook until bacon is crispy (~10-12 minutes).
Remove bacon from skillet and pat dry. Drain most of the bacon grease from skillet, leaving only about 1-2 tsp in skillet.
In a medium bowl, mix together the maple syrup, brown sugar, salt, cinnamon and black pepper; stir until combined. Add the cooked bacon, nuts (pecans, walnuts, cashews and almonds) and dried cranberries; stir until well combined.
Transfer mixture back into skillet; cook on low heat, stirring often, for 8-10 minutes or until sugar has melted and begun to thicken. (Note: you will need to stir the mixture fairly often to prevent the sugar and maple syrup from burning.)
Remove the mixture from the skillet and toss in granulated sugar. Spread mixture apart on a piece of parchment paper to dry (~5 minutes).
