This No Bake Chocolate Almond Pie includes only 3 ingredients, and it's ready in minutes! It's perfect for summer parties!Coffee cake.  Banana muffins.  Chocolate cake.  Snowball cookies.  Peach cobbler.  Every time we go back to visit my Mom in Nashville, she bakes up all of my favorite desserts.  She must spend the entire week before we arrive baking!  (Aren’t Moms the best??)  So by the time we arrive, the countertop is loaded with all of my favorite treats.  And those aren’t even the desserts for dinner.  The countertop goodies are just for random snacking.  (On a side note, this may explain why I gain about 3 pounds whenever we go visit!)

This No Bake Chocolate Almond Pie includes only 3 ingredients, and it's ready in minutes! It's perfect for summer parties!Last summer, we arrived in Nashville and, sure enough, my Mom had made all of the usual suspects.  Delicious!  But then one night after dinner, she announced that she had made my favorite dessert.  Pound cake?  Nope.  Chocolate cake?  Nope.  Store-bought birthday cake?  Nope.  It was a No Bake Chocolate Almond Pie.  My Mom was so happy and pleased with the pie that I just didn’t have the heart to tell her that I’d never had it before.  True story.  There’s no way this No Bake Chocolate Almond Pie was my favorite.  I’d never even seen it before!

This No Bake Chocolate Almond Pie includes only 3 ingredients, and it's ready in minutes! It's perfect for summer parties! But one bite, and this No Bake Chocolate Almond Pie began climbing to the top of the list of favorite summer desserts.  First of all, it’s no bake.  Second of all, it’s delicious.  Third of all, it uses 3 ingredients.  Fourth of all, it’s delicious.  So if you’re in the mood for a ridiculously easy summer dessert, then this pie might be calling your name!

This No Bake Chocolate Almond Pie includes only 3 ingredients, and it's ready in minutes! It's perfect for summer parties! It turns out that this No Bake Chocolate Almond Pie has been around for years.  It’s not an original recipe by any means.  In fact, a quick Google search led me to Hershey’s website.  It appears that this pie is a classic Hershey’s recipe.  After all, it’s just whipped topping mixed with melted Hershey’s bars.  (I like to use Hershey’s with Almonds for the added crunch, but that’s just me.)  How can you go wrong there?  The only change I made was dividing the pie into layers so you get a cool presentation with the chocolate layer next to the plain layer.  I mean presentation is half the battle when it comes to desserts, right?  Oh, and I used more chocolate bars…because, well, chocolate.

This No Bake Chocolate Almond Pie includes only 3 ingredients, and it's ready in minutes! It's perfect for summer parties! This pie is served either cold or frozen, so it wouldn’t be the best option to take to a potluck.  But it would be an excellent option if you are entertaining friends on the back porch this summer!  (I actually prefer to serve this pie frozen…if for no other reason, freezing the pie makes it easier to slice.)  And this pie couldn’t be any easier to make if it tried.  It seriously takes about 10 minutes total.  (15 if you include washing the dishes afterwards.)  So here’s to delicious desserts and hanging out with friends on warm summer nights!  Enjoy!

  1. Oh wow! I’ll take that 3 pound gain if I can chow down on “Coffee cake, Banana muffins, Chocolate cake, Snowball cookies, Peach cobbler, AND THIS heavenly chocolate almond pie! I hadn’t seen this on the Hershey site so thanks for sharing it – with Lil S going off to college shortly, we’ve been having quite a few little get togethers and THIS would be a fav for sure! I love the idea of this being served frozen – in this HotLanta heat it would be a welcome treat for sure!
Happy Friday, my friend! Hope all of y’all have a wonderful weekend!

    1. Oh man, it’s bad whenever I go down to Nashville, Shashi! I always start off trying to be good…but by Day #2 (Day #3 if I’m really good), all bets are off! 🙂 So this pie is so darned easy. Like it’s almost unbelievable how easy it is! It’s been HOTlanta hot up here the past few days (seriously!), and I’m kinda wishing I had more of this bad boy for dessert. I might have to make another one this weekend when Laura’s parents come up! Hope you gals are doing well down there in the A!

  2. Hi David. A creamy, cold pie on a hot day, it can’t get much better (other than the fact that it’s so quick to make). I make a frozen lemonade pie which is as quick as this one and it’s a good summer pie too.

    1. This pie just screams summer to me, Dorothy! But that Lemonade Pie of yours…now I’m thinking I need to give that one a try, too. Laura and I both love lemon! Have you ever tried Atlantic Beach Pie? I posted it a while back (last summer maybe?) and it’s a great lemon pie…with a saltine cracker crust! Trust me that it’s amazing! 🙂 Thanks so much, my baking friend!

  3. Whoa. I’ve never heard of–let alone eaten–this pie but it’s already one of my favorites too! Your mom sounds like the sweetest person ever! When I visit my parents, I walk into a kitchen stocked with ingredients and a list of recipes they’re requesting :). I think I’ll send this along to my mom because I know this will make that list. Have a great weekend, David!

    1. Haha! Well, based on all of the amazing recipes you’ve been posting lately, I can’t blame your parents for having a long list of requests whenever you stop by! 🙂 Do give this one a shot, Kelsie. It’s almost silly how easy it is to make…and it’s perfect for a hot summer day! (And I do recommend eating it frozen rather than just refrigerated. But that’s just me.) Hope you had a great weekend, my Arizona friend!

  4. Three inredients! Stop it! That means I’m just three ingredients away from couch potato, and couch potato with pie! The temptation is too great!

    1. Seriously, Jeff. The temptation with this pie really is too much. I say give in and become that couch potato…but make sure to have a fork handy for this pie. You wouldn’t want to have to get up because you forgot a fork! 🙂

  5. OMG, I’ve never had anything like this before. No Bake Chocolate Almond Pie??? Yes Yes and Yes. I haven’t made a no bake pie since high school. Wait this pie only requires 3 ingredients? You have to be joking David. Mom’s like your’s are the best, my Mom doesn’t cook my childhood favorites anymore and when she does she puts a healthy twist on it, which is annoying, I swear I’m healthy enough. Lol, My Mom does stuff like that also, she makes things and swears I love it yet I’ve never had it before.

    1. I am dead serious that this pie is INSANELY easy to make, Mary! I thought about making whipped cream instead of using whipped topping…but I decided to keep it nice and easy. I mean this whole thing comes together in like 10 minutes! (And I could probably eat the whole thing in about the same amount of time…haha!) Oh, Moms. They just make stuff up, but we love ’em all the same. Plus, the quirkiness is kinda endearing, right? Hope you make this pie on a hot day soon, my friend! Trust me when I say you won’t regret it. 🙂

    1. Haha…yeah, that’s it, Kathy! My Mom just knew this pie would become a favorite, so she just started calling it my favorite a bit early. 🙂 Seriously, though, this pie really is moving up on the list of favorites! (There’s just so much competition out there on that list!) This pie is perfect for a really hot summer day…and we’ve had a couple of those here lately. Thanks so much, my friend!

  6. You see, you mom knows you so well that she was 100% sure that having just one little bite, this cake would be your favorite 🙂 Indeed, I see no reason it wouldn’t be. Besides its flavor and seemingly mousse-y texture (look at these little air bubbles!), it’s a no bake dessert. And you know what’s the season now? “Don’t You Dare Even Open The Oven” season 🙂

    1. You know, they say Moms know us best…and I’m thinking that’s true. My Mom just had a hunch that this pie would become a favorite. And she’s right! It’s totally up there on my top 3 favorites now. It’s been so darned hot here lately, and the thought of no-bake pie is pretty much all I think about now. Haha! Also, a Hershey’s cookbook? I’ll need you to carefully hand that over so that no-one gets hurt. Nice and gentle now, ok. 🙂

  7. Haha, aww your mom sounds so cute! I wouldn’t have the heart to tell her that it wasn’t my favorite either (not yet at least!). This pie reminds me of this no bake chocolate pie that my mom makes a lot in the warmer months. It’s so easy to whip up & everyone always loves it!

    1. Yeah, it was the strangest moment! I looked at my sister when my Mom said that, and I was like “uhhh…” She just laughed. But then one bite later, I was feeling bad since this pie is crazy good! There’s just something about no-bake easy desserts in the summer. Thanks, Nicole! 🙂

    1. They really are, Manali! I always love going back to Nashville to visit my Mom. 🙂 And this pie is delicious. Perfect for warm summer days! Yum! Thanks so much, my friend!

  8. whipped topping + melted chocolate?? pretty sure i’d be happy to eat that in a cup (actually, how about a mixing bowl?) all day long. and i thought all of the recipes from my childhood were special and unique and had elaborate back stories. usually not though, haha. case in point: the alaskan blueberry coffee cake that was straight from the internet, that has nothing alaskan about it at all, from what i can tell.

    1. Hey, just stick a big milkshake straw down in there, and I’d be a happy camper! 🙂 Isn’t it funny when you learn the truth about recipes. I mean Robbie will grow up thinking this pie was a long family tradition! But, hey, I’m ok with that. It’s one heck of a delicious pie!

  9. OH WOW, you gave me the perfect dessert idea to take for my dad, for Fathers day this weekend. It looks so easy to prepare. Thanks for the great recipe, I cannot wait to try it.😃
Hopefully there won’t be any slices missing before he gets it…but hey don’t they say that you need to taste the food you prepare before serving it?😁

    1. Oh my gosh, this really is the perfect dessert for Father’s Day! It comes together in a snap, and it’s great on a warm day. In fact, I actually like to serve this one frozen…but refrigerated works, too. And, yes, the cook always gets to take a nibble! It’s the rules! Thanks, Ashika! 🙂
